After a brilliant period through Gypsy jazz, the guitarist from Strasbourg makes a brief comeback that will surprize a few, to a more electric jazz, style in which he got familiar in the eighties, playin with the best American musicians, particularly with the great bassist Jaco Pastorious.

On this new album, Biréli surrounded himself with a dynamic, enthusiastic and very talented band : Hadrien Féraud on bass, whose reputation is increasing rapidly – we hear him with John McLaughlin’s band and with Chick Corea – the saxophonist Franck Wolf, Biréli’s faithfull companion in the Gipsy Project, on the album « Just the way you are » for instance – the fiery Damien Schmitt on drums – the subtil Michäel Lecoq on keyboards – the talented Andy Narell on the steelpans and the man of new sounds, DJ Afro-Cut Nanga on turntables, effects, samples…

« Electric Side » takes us into a jazz fusion full of energy, groove, feeling, scratches, samples, beautifully mixing jazz and rock music. We will be stunned by the extraordinary energy, the will to play and share that comes from the turbulent band.
